0318.09:
To the members of the 7th Brigade,
I am still taking nomination for the 7th Brigade Valor Awards. These awards will be given out at the 7th Brigade Muster which will be held at Shore Leave this coming July. The following awards are what you will need to send nominations for:
Cross of Valor - Brigade Marine of the Year
Sword of Valor - Brigade Officer of the Year
Shield of Valor - Volunteer of the Year
Star of Valor - NCO/Enlisted member of the Year
Legion of Valor - Unit of the Year
For detailed information on each award, you may find them in the SFMC Marine Manual or the SFMC website (www.sfi-sfmc.org). The nomination phase will be from 01 February 2009 thru 01 April 2009 at midnight. I am asking that you use the awards form found on the 7th BDE website:
Our Brigade Sergeant Major will be the point of contact for all questions and concerns about the Star of Valor Award and their nominations. He can be
reached at sgtmajor@7thbdesfmc.com. Should the Brigade Sergeant Major be nominated for the Star of Valor, I will make the decision on who gets the award. Should I be nominated for any of the other awards, COFORCECOM will be making the decision on who will get that award.
We look forward to reading the nominations from this Brigade and especially handing out the awards during the 7th Brigade Muster at Shore Leave.
